Regional Collaboration

Workforce Southwest Washington (WSW) serves businesses in Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties.

We also take a larger view of the region as part of the Portland metropolitan area. Our workforce frequently crosses state lines and we coordinate closely with our workforce peers in Oregon to focus on industry needs in the region’s high-growth, high-demand sectors. With Worksystems (serving Multnomah and Washington counties) and the Clackamas Workforce Partnership, we have formed the Columbia-Willamette Workforce Collaborative (CWWC) to partner on regional workforce strategies for manufacturing, healthcare, technology and construction.

Working with these industries and our WorkSource, economic development and higher education partners, we identify the workforce needs of businesses, the skills of the workforce and any gaps that exist between the two.

We secure funds and develop and implement strategies to train individuals for jobs in these fields and to assist high-growth industries with their workforce needs.
