We are rolling out new initiatives to increase access to online training and assist 500 adults and graduating students to prepare for post-COVID jobs, especially those requiring digital skills.

We are happy to announce we have partnered with LinkedIn Learning to provide short-term training in pre-designed career pathways that lead to skills local businesses have told us they need.

The following pathways are available for individuals living in Clark, Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties:

  • Digital Marketing Specialist
  • Project Management
  • Courses to prepare for CompTIA A+ and CompTIA A+ Network certifications
  • Agile Software Developer
  • SQL Developer
  • Java Programmer
  • Microsoft Office learning path

“We are increasing opportunities for people to obtain training for jobs that can be done remotely,” said Workforce Southwest Washington CEO Kevin Perkey. “As we learned during the COVID-19 shutdown, workers who could do their jobs from home fared better than those who could not work remotely.”

Training through LinkedIn Learning allows individuals to learn at their own pace using a desktop or mobile device. Those who enroll will have access to a career coach and can avail themselves of additional resources that may be available through WSW’s partners, including connections for housing, food, childcare, and assistance procuring work clothing and supplies.

Individuals can learn more about the LinkedIn Learning training and resources and assistance available through the workforce development system by contacting CoachTraci@careersnw.org.

Businesses in Southwest Washington can take advantage of WSW’s partnership with LinkedIn Learning to train their existing employees by contacting WSW’s business services team.
