Why work in workforce development?

Working in workforce development gives me a concrete way to influence my community, to make a difference in the lives of people, and to participate in work that challenges and rewards my sense of purpose and values. I am able to contribute to a society I envision, one that includes and works for people of many backgrounds and needs.

What is your favorite local business and why?

Right now, I have to say Dog’s Best Friend Doggy Daycare. Personally, I entrust them with the care of my Alaskan Malamute Mix. They are customer-centric in everything they do and continue to expand and deepen the care in which they deliver services to Clark County residents: easy to work with, friendly and engaged staff, and invested in the community they do business in.

What do you like to do for fun or what hobbies do you have?

I am an avid documentary and portrait photographer, having exhibited work in Europe, U.K., and England. I enjoy the mindful practice of photography and the ways it asks me to be deliberate and observe the small details in everyday life through the lens of my camera, including my cellphone!
