In Business Growth, Events, Quality Jobs

On Tuesday, October 21, the Columbia Willamette Workforce Collaborative (CWWC), including Workforce Southwest Washington, Clackamas Workforce Partnership, and Worksystems, hosted a special State of the Workforce breakfast event at the Abernethy Center in Oregon City.

Room filled with business partners eating breakfast.

Nearly 150 partners joined us bright and early on Tuesday morning, representing a wide range of sectors including business, education, and government. Attendees had the opportunity to connect over breakfast while exploring the current trends shaping our regional economy.

Liza Morehead, Data & Research Analyst at Worksystems, presented highlights from the 2025 State of the Workforce Report, offering valuable insights into the evolving needs of employers and workers across the Portland-Vancouver metro area.

Closing the morning was Serilda Summers-McGee, Founder and CEO of Workplace Change, who delivered a dynamic keynote focused on transforming change into action. Building on the report’s findings, Serilda shared tangible strategies to help businesses create more equitable, inclusive, and effective workplaces. Attendees left inspired and equipped with practical steps to strengthen both their teams and their businesses.
